Track calories, macros, water and weight — free, private, and actually easy.
CalorieToday is a fast, no-nonsense tracker with a 23,000+ food database, offline support, and progress charts that actually help you understand your trend — not just today's number.
No credit card. No forced sign-up. Works offline once loaded.
A food database that's actually complete
Search 23,000+ foods pulled from official US, UK, Australian and Canadian government nutrition data. Results are instant and work offline. Type it, search it, or just say it out loud with voice logging.
Targets built for your body, not a guess
Your calorie and macro targets are calculated from your age, weight, height, activity level and goal using the Mifflin-St Jeor formula — the same one dietitians use — not a flat 2,000-calorie default.
A meal plan you don't have to think about
Every day gets a suggested Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Snack sized to hit your calorie and macro targets, filtered to your diet type — vegetarian, vegan, low-carb, keto or paleo. Tap "Log It" and it's on your day.
Macros, water, weight and exercise in one place
Log calories and macros alongside water intake, body weight and workouts, and see it all as clean trend charts — including a 7-entry moving average on weight that smooths out normal day-to-day water-weight swings.
Steps that count themselves
Automatic step detection uses your phone's motion sensor while you walk — no manual entry. Went over on calories today? "Steps to close today's gap" tells you exactly how far to walk it off.
Motivation that doesn't feel gimmicky
37 badges across logging streaks, weight milestones, hydration and food variety, plus an XP/leveling system and three daily quests that reshuffle — built around consistency, the single biggest predictor of long-term results.
Privacy-first by default
Your data stays on your device unless you choose to sync. There's no forced account, no ad-tech dossier — just your numbers, stored locally, under your control.
Install it, then forget it's a website
Add CalorieToday to your home screen for one-tap access. It's a full offline-first PWA — log food, water and weight with zero internet connection.

Frequently asked questions
Is CalorieToday free?
Yes. Manual, voice and barcode food logging, the searchable food database, personalized meal plans, water and weight tracking, charts and streak badges are free, supported by occasional ads. AI plate-photo scanning isn't included on the Free plan or the Pro trial — it's reserved for paying Pro subscribers.
How does the free trial work?
Pro comes with a 3-day free trial so you can try cloud sync and the full branded food database before paying. A card is required to start the trial; if you cancel before it ends you won't be charged. AI plate-photo scanning is excluded from the trial itself and unlocks once it converts to a paid subscription, billed at $4.99/mo or $39/yr.
Do I need an account?
No. CalorieToday works fully on your device without signing up. Your data is stored locally in your browser. An account is only needed to start a Pro trial/subscription or to sync across multiple devices.
Where does the food data come from?
The free database is built from official government nutrition datasets published by the United States, United Kingdom, Australia and Canada — over 23,000 generic foods, searchable instantly, even offline.
Does it work offline?
Yes. CalorieToday is a progressive web app — once loaded, you can search foods and log entries without an internet connection, and everything stays on your device unless you choose to sync.
